Emergency Departments (A&E) and 999 are for life threatening emergencies.
If you have a serious or life-threatening emergency – such as severe bleeding, breathing difficulties or chest pain – please dial 999 or go to your local A&E department.
If you come to an emergency department (A&E) for health concerns that aren’t an emergency you may face a very long wait as priority is given to patients with the most urgent clinical need.
